Tracy (00:00):
So I have been dealing with this pain for five years and it’s affected our whole family. I wasn’t able to be there for them when they needed me during their teen years. 2021, I had triple negative breast cancer. It really devastated our whole family. It was really, really hard. It was already predetermined for me. I didn’t even get a chance to research doctors. I had the double mastectomy, the bilateral mastectomy with lymph node removal and then right after that they put the expanders in and I was in so much pain. They couldn’t manage my pain in the hospital. So that was really hard just being in pain all around. And ever since that, I mean, I was just kind of living with underlying pain and just getting through life and working until last year I started to have all these symptoms and I’m like, “What is going on?
(01:05):
I don’t know what’s going on. ” And I was having really bad insomnia. I was having really bad anxiety, which was so bad at work. I was having some depression. I was losing my hair. My hair was so thin. I went to the doctors, got all kind of blood work. It ended up, my thyroid was had Graves’ disease, Hashimoto’s. It was kind of fluctuating back and forth. So I did my research and I’m like, I think it’s breast implant illness. And if you look at all the symptoms of breast implant illness, it’s all those and more. The doctors that I was seeing back, I’m from San Diego. A lot of them don’t understand that. It’s kind of people, women are now just starting to come forward and talk about breast implant illness. It’s a real thing. So I started going to acupuncture. I was going to acupuncture twice a week.
(02:05):
So she had mentioned the Center for Restorative Breast Surgery and I said, “Oh my gosh, I got to research it. I got to look it up.” So I did. I went home and on the website, was looking at all the videos on there, looking at reading about all the doctors. They do nothing like this for them in San Diego. They want to cut deep into they wanted to take a back muscle. They wanted to take a stomach muscle. And I’m like, “No.” I’m like, “I don’t want to go through that. ” I just was so grateful and so thankful and just can’t believe that there’s other alternatives out there. So this is going to change everything and it’s going to really lift our family up. And I just really thank this center, these doctors, all the nurses, you guys for having a place like this and really caring about your patients.
