“For me, the tattoos were the icing on the cake! I can’t say enough nice things about Vinnie or the techniques he has perfected! Thanks, Vinnie, for helping me feel so good about myself again!”
The Center for Restorative Breast Surgery (CRBS) is proud to announce Vinnie Myers, nationally renowned tattoo artist, has formally joined forces with this world renowned practice to provide exclusive benefit of his talents to patients treated at the Center. Myers has been highly sought after for his areola repigmentation, or “nipple tattooing,” which is often the final step in the breast reconstruction process for women who have undergone breast cancer surgery, an important step that makes many women finally feel whole again. “Within this art form, our surgeons are the sculptors, restoring shape and feminine beauty and Vinnie is the painter, who applies the finishing touch.” states Dr. Frank DellaCroce, Co-Founder of the Pioneering Center in New Orleans.
Myers has treated over 3000 breast cancer survivors using dimensional micropigmentation, adding realistic visual depth with 3-D impact for the reconstructed nipple.. He uses precisely mixed pigments to create the perfect 3-D coloration, further enhancing realism after reconstruction. “I wasn’t prepared for the powerful impression it was about to have on me,” states Myers, “and more importantly, the overwhelmingly positive psychological impact it would have on the women I would tattoo.”
“Vinnie is a huge asset to our patients and we are thrilled to have brought him in as part of our team,” states Dr. Scott Sullivan, Co-Founder of the CRBS. “Our goal has always been to return a woman to a sense of wholeness, and this final touch can give a woman the self-confidence and feeling of beauty that she deserves.”
Myers, a Baltimore native, began tattooing while serving in the US Army as a medic in South Korea in the 1980s. In 2001, he was asked by a surgeon if he would tattoo some of his patients who had undergone breast reconstruction. Since then, Myers has perfected his craft and spends 100% of his time working with breast cancer survivors. One patient expresses her gratitude to Myers by saying, “For me, the tattoos were the icing on the cake, I can’t say enough nice things about Vinnie or the techniques he has perfected. Thanks, Vinnie, for helping me feel so good about myself again!”
